As long as you are not dealing CRA what happens is there are two thresholds set. These are $800 and $2400. So what this means is that a normal creditor can’t garnish any income below $800 per month. They can garnish 50% of any income between $800 per month and $2400 per month, and if you have income in excess of $2400 per month they can garnish 100% of that.
Then these thresholds are increased by $200 for each dependent in the household.
