End of Bankruptcy

October 18th, 2012 by Questions

My bankruptcy ends near the end of November. However, my trustee will do my 2012 taxes. If I have a sudden increase in income after the bankruptcy, will there be questions? Can the trustee go back on the bankruptcy and then extend it? When can I say that I am no longer in bankruptcy for sure?

, A licensed trustee said:

Once you receive your Certificate of Discharge you are free of the bankruptcy and may eanr whatever you are legally able to earn.

The only way I see thisa getting you into any trouble is if you have deliberately kept your income low during the bankruptcy – for example, you made really good money before you filed, you deliberately made very low money during the bankruptcy to keep it short and cheap, and then immediately made really good money right after your discharge… Might not pass the smell test.
