Hi, after complete discharge (9months)
will GST/HST or income tax be taken from me. I’ve heard for seven years?
Also can GST/HST be used to pay a trustee
for personal bankruptcy. Thanks

This is another one of those “urban myths” that creditors use to scare people away from filing for bankruptcy. Your trustee will decide when you file whether or not your GST/HST will be redirected to them during yoru procedure. Not all trustees “take” this money – we don’t for example.

Whether or not your trustee will accept these funds as payments towards the cost of filing is up to your trustee also, but if they are taking your GST/HST then they will likely apply it, if you ask them to.
