can an individual renounce his or her inheritance during and or after they declare bankruptcy

You’ll need to speak to a lawyer, but I very much doubt it. When a person files for bankruptcy they lose the right to “control” their assets – control vests in their trustee for the benefit of the person’s creditors.

The person that has the will may change it at any time so they can re-write it to remove the person that has filed bankruptcy, but the bankrupt probanly cannot simply renounce it.
