Ex wife Bankruptcy
My ex-wife claimed bankruptcy and stuck me with a 20,000 dollar maxed out credit card becuase I co signed. Our seperation agreement clearly stated that she was to get my name of that credit card as it was at 0 when we seperated. The seperation agreement also states that if you are not to make the other person liable for your debt by claiming bankruptcy otherwise you are responsible for paying them back with interest. She seems to think she doesnt have to pay me back since he claimed bankruptcy is this true?

Pursuant to bankruptcy laws, she is correct that the debt will be leiminated, BUT pursuant to family law you likely have rights. All I can suggest is youn speak to a family law lawyer to see what recourse you have against her…
