How come when my husband filed personal bankruptcy we no longer receive the child tax credit in canada

You need to speak to your trustee. Bankruptcy by itself does not change some one’s eligibility to receive any government benefits, including the child tax credit. If you still meet the eligibilty requirements when you file then you should still receive the payment.

Normally CRA only stops the payments if you are no longer eleigible, or if you fail to file your income taxes. Your trustee will file your taxes for you when you file for bankruptcy, but you still have to get them all of your information so they may do so…
