bankcruptcy when living outside of canada
My husband and I need to go bankrupt because we have both been out of work for the past 2 years. We have used all of our savings and have none left. I have accepted a job overseas for the fall. Can we still go bankrupt and live out of the country?

There are no restrictions on travelling (or moving) outside the country after you file for bankrupcy, BUT there are a number of meetings that you are required to attend during your bankruptcy and if you don’t then your bankruptcy cannot be completed…
Soo, if you know you will be leavinbg the country make certain that you have attended all of the required meetings BEFORE you leave – otherwise you will have to make a return trip to Canada to finish things off.
