Taxes

Just wondering when I file my income tax will be withheld this year. I filed for bankruptcy in July 2010, and have been paying 200.00 a month.

A licensed trustee said...

If you filed bankruptcy in July 2010 then your 2010 refund and any refund for prior years will be sent to your trustee for the beenfit of your unsecured creditors.

In plain language, you won’t get to keep your tax refund in the year you file for bankruptcy.
