forgotten credit card

July 26th, 2010 by Questions

I had a deactivated credit card I forgot to disclose with my trustee (I had no credit card debts with this or any other cards), can I be fined or my bankruptcy disolved because of this? I only discharged a student loan (over 7 yrs old). What if I used the card again?

Call your trustee – you won’t get in any trouble for forgetting to disclose the card (if you disclose it now), but you can get into trouble for using it again. The credit card issuer has the right to know about the bankruptcy so they can decide whether or not to allow you to re-activate the card. Failing to advise them of the bankruptcy may be consider misrepresentation or fraud.
