Filing Income Taxes After Discharge

November 25th, 2009 by Questions

I have just been discharged from my bankruptcy which was filed in February 09. I understand that the trustee will be filing my 2009 tax return as part of the process. What I don`t understand is why do I need to file a paper return for 2010 as oppose to efiling as I have in the past?

The reason is due to Canada Revenue Agency. They do not have the electronic capacity to deal with bankruptcy returns and the necessary pro rating of credits that takes place. So all bankrutpcy returns must be paper filed.
