Renting my basement after bankruptcy
October 24th, 2009 by Questions
I claimed bankruptcy 2 weeks ago. My personal condition does not allow me to work. I am supported fully by my friends. I have a residential house, that has no net value. I want to rent the basement apartment out so that the support from my friends could be less. In which way am I impacted along with this rental income, that definitely I am going to report? I mean, will the trustee try to take my residential house for selling it on the market because it can make some income for my creditors? Will it affect my automatic discharge?
my automatic discharge?
Thanks for any response.

If you income goes up during a bankruptcy, the cost of your bankruptcy may go up as well. The only way to determine this is by applying the surplus income calculation that you should have discussed with your trustee.
