if my husband and i file banruptcy in canada and we relocate to the US for a new start. What happens to our credit rating. Does it follow us into the US?

Your credit rating is largely country specific. However, it is the same agency that houses this information (Equifax). So while a Canadian bankruptcy won’t impact your American rating there is nothing stopping people in the US from checking your Canadian rating as you won’t have much of a history south of the border.
