Can I be fired for filing bankruptcy? I know when I started this job they did a credit check and I passed.

Typically there isn’t any impact on employment as a result of a bankruptcy. Usually the credit check is only done upon hiring and is not followed up on past that and very rarely does a trustee have to contact your employer about anything. The only time the trustee really has to do anything with your employer is if you have a garnishee in place that we need to stop or if you are not fulfilling your duties and responsibilities (i.e. providing monthly verification of income or provision of the necessary tax documentation to your trustee.
