Debt incurred before discharge

I lent money to a person after she had declared bankruptcy. This person concealed the fact that she was an undischarged bankrupt and I had no knowledge of this fact. However, a search revealed her status. Under these circumstances is my claim exempt from an order of discharge?

If the debt was incurred AFTER the person filed then you are not involved in the bankruptcy. If you want you can sue the person while they remain bankrupt or take whatever other legal actions you deem appropriate.

If you inform the person’s trustee in writing what they have done (the new debt and the failure to disclose that they were bankrupt) you might land thm in a heap of trouble with the Court… Borrowing is not prohibited, but failing to disclose the bankruptcy is a serious offence and will have consequences if the Court hears about it.
