RRSP plan with work

October 9th, 2008 by Questions

I am in an rrsp plan with my work. I put in 4% and they match it. The money goes into RRSP`s in segregated funds with Canada Life. Is there still the 12 month claw back?

Probably not – the old rules exempting RRSPs with annuity components (life insurance) still exist – if your money is in seg funds then it likely can’t be taken.

Regardless, as of July 7, 2008, the only RRSP money that can be taken are funds deposited in the 12 months immediately preceeding the date of your bankruptcy.
