bank accounts

April 4th, 2008 by Questions

I understand that it is important to open a `safe` bank account at an institution where there are no creditor links. Will the account that I had prior to bankruptcy be usable again or should I simply close it completely? If it will be usable again, how long would you recommend waiting before returning to that bank for my banking needs?

It will likely be usuable, but wouldn’t reccomend you make that your primary account unless it is an institution you did not owe money to. You are always best to start a new relationship with a new institution.
