After DisCharge

March 13th, 2008 by Questions

I had a long and lengthy bankruptcy having filed in Feb 2002 and not being discharged until Feb 2008 – I had a lot happen and I never went through the standard 9 months. From doing research on the internet it is my understanding that I have a 7 year waiting period to fulfill… when does the clock start ticking; is it from the time I go bankrupt (2002) or from my discharge date in 2008? In addition what about unfiled tax returns during the time of Bankruptcy; who gets the refund if I have one? Finally I want to reestablish my credit and I need assistance… who can help? Thanks.

I beleive there will be a note on your credit report for 6 years from your date of discharge (ie Feb 2008) – you should check with Equifax and Trans Union directly to see how you will be treated.
