When the bankruptcy note on the credit file finally purges after 6 years, are you still obligated to inform future lenders that you were once bankrupt?

Yes, if someone asks you if you have ever filed for bankruptcy (and you have in the past filed) your answer should be yes. You are under no obligation to tell them if they don’t ask, but if they do and you lie it may be grounds for legal action in the future if something goes wrong…
