came to my house this morning

Hi, my husband is having financial problems, we live in Quebec and a `huissier` I think it`s called baillif came by the house yesterday. They wanted to take inventory of my husbands company assets. Since the company is not operational and owes over 90K in gst and pst the baillif told me that they will come after him personally. My question is that the house is mine, I bought it from my husband 5 months ago, it was legally done at the notary and I gave him his market value share $45k. If the baillifs come back are they allowed in the house? Can they take anything? Everything is mine, how can I protect myself from his mistakes? Thanks for the response as this a a difficult time for me.

If this sale was done in good faith, for valid consideration that is equal to market value and everything was done properly through a lawyer then you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. Although this can be partially dependant on what was done with the money, although this would likely be an issue that would concern you spouse not yourself.
