Ei benefits
I have a big student loan and I was making a payment but now I am laid off my job and currently I am on EI benefits with $1740/month.
I notifed the collection agency that I can`t afford to pay for now since i am out work but they refused and they are deducting from my EI benefits. Can they do that?
Who should I go for help?

The government is not your average collector and as a result have a great deal more power than most creditors. The best place to go to is Student Loans directly and investigate programs like interest relief etc.
