Question?

My wife and I are considering bankruptcy and are going to let our house go. We are going to move to a new province and my question is if we file for bankruptcy today how long do we have to leave our house, as we need some time to save up money to make the move. Right now we are paying our payments but have no money lift for anything else. Should we stop making payments for a couple of months and save this money or what are our best options.
