Unpaid debt statute of limitations

Will an unpaid debt in collection ever go away if left unpaid?

The Limitations Act in Ontario provides a two year period to take action on a debt (there are some exceptions). Section 13 of the Act provides for the 2-year period to begin the last day on which the debt is acknowledged. In theory this could go on for a long time.
