A licensed trustee said...

Most government debts are cleared by filing for bankruptcy, BUT if the debt was created because you misrepresented your situation in some manner the government has the right to ask that the debt be excluded from bankruptcy. So, whether or not your debts will be cleared depends on how/why they came about.
