While I am in bankruptcy I just filed Sept 25 can I sue someone in small claims court for money and if successful where does that money go

Only if the event or cause of the action occurred AFTER you filed for bankruptcy. If the cause happened before you filed for bankruptcy then you signed over your right to sue to your trustee when you filed. Give your trustee a call to discuss what you can do about it now.
