Must I include my wife in a personal bankruptcy?

What happens if I have really NO money to even file for bankruptcy..I hear that there is a monthly charge. We can hardly eat as it is. Like I am stuck

Spouses are NOT required to file bankruptcy – if only one of you had incurred thedebt then only one of you has to file. Watch out for “joint debts” – if you have any joint debts and you file for bankruptcy then your spouse will be held responsible for the debt. This is why spouses often have to file too.
