Inheritance

I have recently inherited some money during my bankruptcy and my trustee has asked to see my mother’s will. Does he have the right to ask for this? I was considering of doing a consumer proposal but I am not sure if I should. So confused 🙁

Unfortunately, any funds you receive or may receive in the future as a result of your mother’s will vest (belong) to your trustee for the benefit of your creditors. The only way for your trsutee to assertain what those numbers may be is to look at the will…

You may be able to file a consumer proposal now that will annul your bankruptcy, BUT your trustee will still have to see the will to determine what a “fair” offer is for your proposal.
