I have only ever seen a bankruptcy prevent a citizenship application or one’s ability to sponsor a family member to immigrate here. I have not heard about any change to these rules, and historically a consumer proposal didn’t cause any problems with this process. However, the only way to know for sure is to ask this question of the government department that you are making the application with.
