There is a guideline sent to every trustee in Canada that stipulates a threshold. If you make less than the threshold then you qualify for the minimum cost of a bankruptcy. However, if you make more than the threshold you then have to pay surplus. For a household of 2 the threshold amount is $2,465.00, please note this is an after tax figure.
