What Now?

I am in an Orderly Payment of Debt program but have lost some of my source of income. My budget is so tight I can’t pay the OPD monthly payments is full. Can I apply for a debt settlement program whereby O would pay .10 – .50 on the dollar? My situation is ever more stressful now since my agreement is a legal binding contract. What are my option? I owe 49 000 in unsecured debt.

At this point you could look at filing a consumer proposal or ultimately a bankruptcy. The best thing to do is to contact a local trustee, although I believe you sent me an email over the weekend so you may have already done that, and schedule a time to sit down and review the changes that have taken place. From there the trustee will help you understand what options exist given your adjusted income.
