How much can I have
I understand that upon filing bankruptcy one’s income can only be $1800 for a couple. We are pensioners with pension of $1600 monthly formeand $800 formy wife. .How much can I earn besides that as I have a part-timejob. I’m 81.
Should Iconsider filing formyselfonly in order to fall under $$ guidelines?

The income level is set by the Superintendent of Bankruptcy and updated annually. The 2011 income cut off for two people is $2,398.00. So if you have $2,400.00 combined income coming in, you are only slightly over the guideline and therefore will not have to worry about this surplus guideline as you would still qualify for the minimum cost. This is regardless of whether or not you file alone or jointly with your wife.
