i just lost my job and i don’t have any assests. i am a single mom and i am worried about paying my credit cards and them going after me. how do I file bankruptcy?

The first step is to click on the green bar above and meet with a local trustee. For no cost they will meet with you, evaluate your situation, and explain how the bankruptcy process works. When you meet with the trustee it is helpful if you come with a list of who you owe and a copy of your budget, as this information will be a key part of your discussions.
