Impact to spouse after separation agreement

My wife and I have signed a separation agreement but she has not yet filed the divorce papers. In the separation agreemtn she agreed to be responsible to pay the lease penalties on our vehicle, which are likely to be substantial. She is now indicating that she will declare bankruptcy. Since I could not remove my name from the vehicle lease, can I assume I am still on the hook for the penalty? Her other debts are our credit cards, etc which are not in my name. Will I be impacted financially in any other way by her bankruptcy since the divorce is not yet final?

You are correct, if your ex files for bankruptcy you are still responsible for any debts that you were listed on, despite what the divorce / settlement agreement states.

This will include the leased vehicle and any other credit cards, loans or lines of credit.
