I just took my name off the title of a house, how long until I can claim bankruptcy or will that info even become known when the bankruptcy process begins?

You are required by law to disclose any real estate transactions that took place in the 5 years prior to filing for bankruptcy. So yes this type of transaction will likely be an issue if you filed bankruptcy as the legislation is designed to prevent people from abusing the rights of the creditors.
