10 years old student loan which was not included when I filed bankrupt

I have a 10 years old student loan which was not included when I filed bankrupt in 1997. The interests charged to me in this debt are outrageous. What can I do to ask the court to forgive my debt. With a BA the only job I ever had was as receptionist. I never had a steady job nor a good salary to pay my loan. I am 59 years old, unemployed and the collection agency is a nightmare. Can I make an application of hardship by myself?

You can definitely make this attempt, but I would suggest that you employ the services of a good insolvency lawyer to do so, as this type of application requires things to be phrased in a very specific way to ensure you have the greatest likelihood of success.
