student loan
I took several student loans for my first degree, which I graduated with in 2002. I subsequently returned to school for a second degree. I did not take any loans for this second degree, but my first loans remained in a non-payment status because I had returned to school. I graduated with my second degree in 2009 and have been making payments ever since. I am now looking at declaring bankruptcy. Will my student loans be covered by my bankruptcy?

No, your will not be eligible for any of your student loans to be cleared by the filing of a consumer proposal or a bankruptcy until 2016. Whenever you return to school this re-sets the clock on the 7 year rule, regardless of whether you used student loans for that period of schooling or not.
