Tax audit and bankruptcy

I filed for bankruptcy in April 2009. I just received a letter from CRA that they did an audit on me and I owe them 2000$ from 2008 taxes. Is this included in my bankruptcy or is this a new debt I am responsible for?

As this amount relates to a tax period that is prior to the date you filed the bankruptcy, you should be cleared from this debt.

Taxes do not fall into the category of debts that are not released by bankruptcy by the filing of a bankruptcy, so if you haven’t already listed CRA, make sure you call your trustee and have them send out bankruptcy documents.
