Creditor contact during bankruptcy

Hello,

I filed for bankruptcy 2 months ago and since this all creditors have stopped sending collection letters, but one continues to send me statements.

Is this allowed?

While the stay of proceedings that is associated with the filing of a bankruptcy legally prohibits your unsecured creditors from contacting you, continued statements is very normal. The biggest reason is that it takes most of the larger institutions a couple of months to inform all levels of their organization and for whatever reason the department that generates and mails the standard collection letters tends to be the last to know.
