Outstanding loan
Hello,
I have a serious problem. I have been out of school since 1999. I have paid what I could when I could. The amount of my Canada student loan is $18,000. My income tax return is/has always been taken for years. My loan has gone to a collection agency who are threaten to garnish my wages. What can I do as I cannot afford to pay.

If you haven’t been in school since 1999 then you have the right to file either a proposal or bankruptcy to deal with thsi debt. I can’t tell you if either of those things will be right for you – you’ll need to speak to someone in your area about your specific situation.
