credit
My wife is considering bankruptcy for her self and small sole prprietor business and was she not comfortable with the first trustee she spoke with. We met with another during which we felt pressured and rushed and subsequently did not proceed. We were then told that from that point on if we continued to use any credit, it would be fraudulant

If you know you are going to have to file for bankruptcy and continue to use credit, then the advice you were given was correct. Continuing to use credit after the point that you know it is not going to be paid back (i.e. a bankruptcy is inevitable) then the use of credit would be considered to be fraudulent.
In terms of finding a licensed trustee, it is important you use someone you are comfortable with.
