our home
Is there any way to make sure one does not lose their home in a bankruptcy? (No equity)
The reason I’m asking is because we don’t want to lose our home, neither my husband or myself is really capable of moving and we have no one to help us, besides that we have our whole lives tied up in this home, there are no apartments where we live, and we don’t want to move to another place we are in our sixties and it would really hurt us both.
Thanks for your help
This is a great site

With no equity this would depend on the company who holds the mortgage. It will be their decision whether or not to allow you to continue to pay on the mortgage. If there was equity in the property then the trustee would have to get involved, but in the absence of equity it is completely the lending institutions decision.
