You’ve taken the first step of doing some research on-line. The next step is to speak to a professional – your lawyer or accountant, a credit counselor or a trustee. Depending on who you decide to meet with the session could be more information gathering or it can begin the planning to deal with your debts…
One word of caution, try and avoid the “debt consultants” you may see in the newspapers. These folks are not regulated and will charge you an upfront fee and then refer you to a trustee… just make sure you’re dealing with someone repuatable BEFORE you pay them any money.
