Can an Ex be a room mate?

I am considering filing for bankruptcy. However, I live, as a roomate, with my ex. We did this after we broke up and she sold her townhouse to pay off some of her debts. We have 1 child together and another one she has from a previous relationship. We have seperate rooms, date people and live our own lives. The only reason for living under the same roof was to be able to afford to rent a house so the kids have a yard to play in, ect.
My question is: is there any way I can declare bankruptcy and not have her income count as a part of my household income?

Sorry, but you’ll have to discuss this with whatever trustee you decide to deal with. Ex’s living together for economic reasons is not uncommon, but you’ve got to convince your trustee you are no longer living as a household unit (sharing food costs, utilities, etc).
