My house

My husband passed away last year leaving alot of debt and my cctb and other monthly bonuses were cut severely this year, and now my hours have been cut at work an I have to return to school to upgrade my job. I am overwhelmed with debit and looking at bankruptcy. I have three little kids and no assets I live in a home I am purchasing from habitat for humanity will we have to surrender our home?

A licensed trustee said...

It doesn’t sound like 2008 wa a very good year for you and your family – things will improve.

I think you should speak to the Habitat for Humanity people first – they will have had to deal situations similar to yours in the past. Then speak to a trustee to determine what options you have and how the house might be affected. A little homework upfront might save you a lot of trouble later on…
