undischarged bankruptcy

I declared bankruptcy in 1995 or 96. I received a conditional discharge based on paying what i owed to the trustee. We made sure my husband, ex husband now was discharged first as we only had money for him. Long story short..I never paid my trustee and I am not even sure who it was anymore. I need to find out if I am undischarged and if it sits anywhere on record. It is not on my credit report. What do I do at this point? I can get credit and a mortgage. Is there a number to call or somewhere to find out information from so long ago and what I should do or is it even an issue after so long? I just need some direction.

Thanks.

Contact the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. They will be able to tell you the status of your file and which trustee was handling your case. Then contact the trustee to determine what you need to do in order to be discharged…

For folks considering bankruptcy – about 1 out of 20 people (for various reasons) don’t complete their bankruptcy and like the person that posted this question have to deal with it years later. If you decide to file for bankruptcy please do what you can to complete the process – you will save yourself a lot of trouble (and money) later on…
