If your parents, brother or any other person has signed on any of your debt then the banks and other lenders will be able to go after the person who has signed should you not maintain your payments as originally contracted. This would happen both inside or outside a bankruptcy or consumer proposal. Once the person has signed they are bound. However, if no one has signed on anything then the bank won’t have the authority to pursue them.
