To be released from your debts you must be discharged from bankruptcy. Without a discharge a bankruptcy is not completed. So yes, technically if you didn’t get discharged you are still in bankruptcy until you do. There are a variety of circumstances that can go along with this, including if you are not compliant with the requirements of you bankruptcy and the net effect of this is you would loose the protection of the courts, stay in bankruptcy but your creditors collection rights would be reinstated.
