Wage garnishment

Hi there,
I`m in trouble keeping up with my unsecured debts monthly payments. I currently owe around $60K in credit cards, line of credit…. if the creditors get court order to garnish my wage, how much they can do so? I mean what`s the max. amount of wage they garnish? Thanks in advance!

The amount they can garnish depends on teh province you live. In Alberata, for example, the first $800 of your pay check i protected (they cannot garnishee), for any money you receive between $800 and $2400 the creditors can garnish 50% and any income over the $2400 mark they can garnish 100%)

As this varies by province for an idea of what happens in your province you should contact a local trustee.
