Additional Debts?
My discharge for bankruptcy was granted in Nov 2005.
My trustee and I went through all of my revenue canada accounts since those were my largest debts. All accounts were cleared up. Employment insurance said I had a debt with them in feb 2006 stemming from 2003. Am I still liable for this debt?

Perhaps partially – the first thing to do will be to send the collector or agent you are dealing with on the EI account copies of your bankruptcy documents: the Statement of Affairs, the Final Statement of Receipts and Disbursements and a copy of your Certificate of Discharge.
The government then has to decide if they want to try and collect or not. If your EI debt is due to an overpayment I’d be willing to bet the government will claw back some benefits in the future (if you go back on EI to collect the debt). If it’s a Source Deductions debt (for a business) they be more aggressive.
Start by sending them the paperwork set out above and see what they do next…
