Child tax benefits

Hi there,
My question today is: I`ve been receiving calls from collection agency for debts I owe. If I don`t have ability to pay them, will they go after my child`s Child Tax Benefits which is deposited monthly into my account? Please advise

Your creditors likely will not be able to garnishee your CTB at the source (i.e. directly from the government), but if the money is paid into a bank account they may be able to seize the bank account,

From the sounds of it you need to discuss with a trustee how the filing of a bankruptcy or a proposal will prevent your creditors from being able to attack CTB funds or any of the other property or money you may own.
