If i meet with a trustee free consultation and then decide to use another for my bankruptcy is there any record of me meeting with the first one?

Technically the only person who has a recored will be the trustee you first discussed things with and the only way this information could be made known to others is if the first trustee found out you filed for bankruptcy and failed to disclose all the details necessary. Then the trustee would have an obligation to contact the Official Receiver and inform them of these items.

In addition to Barton’s comment, when you file for bankruptcy you sign a form called the Assessment Certificate. Part of this document requires you to disclose to your trustee anyone that you have seen in the past to discuss/assist you with this matter. If you’ve seen another trustee (or a credit counselor, a lawyer, an accountant) seeking advice on how to deal with your debts then you are required to disclose that fact to your current trustee and the person(s) you saw/seen will be listed on the form.
